Why You Should Book Your Wedding Suppliers Early

If you’ve recently got engaged — first of all, congratulations! 🎉
It’s such an exciting time, full of planning, Pinterest boards, and dreaming about your perfect day.
But here’s something I really want to stress — book your preferred suppliers as soon as you can.
Even if your wedding is still years away, it’s never too early to get in touch.

Why I’m Sharing This
Every year, I receive hundreds of enquiries for wedding dates — and lately, enquiries for 2026 and beyond have been coming in faster than ever.
And while I’m so grateful to be in this position (I never take it for granted!), I’ll admit — it honestly hurts my heart every time I have to reply to a couple and say I’m already booked 😢
It’s one of the hardest parts of my job.
I love what I do, and I pour everything into each wedding day I capture.
So when couples reach out full of excitement, only to find their date’s already taken… it’s genuinely soul-destroying.

Why I Can’t “Just Take On More”
Over the years, I’ve spent countless late nights researching different ways to make room for more weddings —
from creating a small team of “epic memory catchers” 📸 to offering half-day packages so I could squeeze in two weddings on the same day.
But after lots of testing, research, and honest feedback, the reality became clear: I can only be in one place at a time.
More importantly, any system that reduced my involvement would also reduce the personal connection, care, and creative control that my couples trust me for.
And that’s just not something I’m willing to compromise on ❤️

The Best Advice I Can Give You
If you’re newly engaged and starting to plan your wedding, my biggest piece of advice is simple:
👉 Contact your dream suppliers straight away!
Don’t think for a second it’s “too early.”
Most of my amazing couples book me around two years in advance, and some even secure their date three or four years ahead!
Getting in early gives you the best chance of securing the photographer, venue, and other suppliers you really want before someone else does.

If Your Preferred Supplier Is Already Booked…
Don’t panic!
One of the biggest blessings of being in the wedding industry for so many years is the huge network of incredible suppliers I’ve built up along the way.
From florists and videographers to makeup artists and bands — I can confidently recommend professionals who I know will go above and beyond.
These are people I’d happily trust with my own wedding day, which says it all! 🌿

To Wrap It Up…
So, to keep it short and sweet:
1️⃣ Get in touch with your preferred suppliers as early as possible.
2️⃣ If they’re booked, ask for recommendations — chances are, they’ll point you towards someone equally amazing.
Planning your wedding is one of the most exciting journeys you’ll ever go on, and locking in your dream team early is one of the best ways to make sure it’s as stress-free as possible.
