Nick & Lauren’s stunning Farbridge wedding was packed with surprises!

Excited from the get-go, Farbridge was a brand-new venue for me!
It’s rare to shoot at a place I haven’t worked before, so when one comes in, I’m buzzing with excitement.
And wow—what a venue!
Not only was I lucky enough to experience it for the first time, but to add to an already perfect day, we were blessed with sunshine. 🌞
Nick & Lauren’s wedding day was nothing short of legendary.
Even with teaser images, I can’t fully express just how incredible the day was—not just for the couple, but also for how flawlessly the venue operated.
The professionalism of the staff was next-level, running like a well-oiled machine.
From remembering to dry the flower stems before the ceremony to being 100% attentive throughout, hats off to you, Farbridge—you’re paving the way and clearly industry leaders.

As for Nick & Lauren, well—JUST WOW.
Managing to pull off planning THE BEST WEDDING EVER in just 6 MONTHS is an INCREDIBLE achievement.
(I say Nick & Lauren, but let’s be real—it was all Lauren. 😉)
She told me that Nick just nodded and agreed with her plans, trusting her completely—and rightly so, because she absolutely smashed it!
Emotional Moments & Epic Surprises 🎉
One of the most unforgettable moments?
The first look with Lauren’s dad.
Beforehand, I asked Lauren, “Do you think he’ll be emotional and shed a tear?” She replied, “I don’t think so, we’ll see.”
Well, let me tell you—when he saw his daughter, he let go and those happy, heartwarming memories flowed.
A truly beautiful sight to document.
But that wasn’t all!
There were THREE surprises in store, none of which I knew about until I arrived.
Wedding event manager Imogen filled me in (again—shoutout to the amazing team!).
Surprise #1: Secret Singing Waiters 🎤
If you’ve never experienced singing waiters before, prepare yourselves.
These undercover performers blend in seamlessly, serving food, clearing tables—totally undetected.
But once the speeches wrapped up, our 007 agents orchestrated a ‘mishap,’ drawing everyone’s attention.
Before you knew it, they were up on chairs and tables, belting out tunes, and getting the whole room on their feet!
A full-blown conga line to Dancing Queen? YES, PLEASE! 💃🕺
Surprise #2: A Newfoundland ‘Bear’ 🐻
Lauren had planned a special surprise just for Nick—his second greatest love (after her, of course)
Their absolutely enormous Newfoundland dog. The best way to describe this gentle giant?
The friendliest, fluffiest black bear you’ll ever meet.
Seeing Nick’s face light up when his four-legged best mate arrived was priceless.
Surprise #3: A Dream Saxophonist 🎷
Lauren had always dreamed of having a saxophonist jump in right after their first dance—and she got just that thanks to the secret booking!
It was the perfect way to kick off the evening celebrations, adding an extra layer of magic to an already unforgettable day.
Wedding Squad Goals! #WeddingSquad 💕
As if the day couldn’t get any better, a few of the guests were actually newlywed friends of mine whose weddings I’ve had the honor of documenting over the years.
It was so special seeing them again, all celebrating together—it felt like a full-circle moment.
The Journey Home – A Reflection 🚗
On the journey back, the day left me with a few priceless life lessons:
1️⃣ Love what you do, and everything else will fall into place.
2️⃣ Meeting amazing people and forming lasting friendships through photography is an absolute privilege.
3️⃣ Weddings like these reaffirm why I do what I do—and why I’ll never stop loving it. 💙

Why the Venue Staff Matter
In my experience, no matter how beautiful a venue may be, it’s the people running it that can truly elevate the day.
Great staff take pressure off the couple, guide the flow of the event, and even help us suppliers feel like a valued part of the team.
That sense of shared purpose makes a huge difference – from keeping timelines smooth to creating a relaxed, welcoming vibe that shines through in every photo.
Whether it’s a coordinator checking in with the couple, a bartender making everyone smile, or a team member making sure suppliers are looked after with a coffee (always appreciated!), it all adds up to something pretty magical.
